Description: 

The city of Goodyear has one part-time internship position available in the Planning & Zoning Division of the Development Services Department. This position provides the chance to experience the opportunities and challenges of being a planner within a fast growing community that is only 10% developed.

This  intern opportunity will be working in a professional planning office. The primary duties of the internship will be to assist with code updates, planning studies, and research projects. Other duties, such as development review, data analysis, and map generation, may be assigned depending upon skills, time, and interest.

Availability: The ideal candidate will be available at least 15-20 hours a week. The P&Z Division can be flexible on the start date and days worked to accommodate class schedules and commuting. This will be a paid internship at $12/hour.
 
Qualifications: Applicants should be enthusiastic, hardworking, and display a high level of professionalism in the workplace and currently enrolled in a planning, or related, degree program. Furthermore, applicants should have:
 

  • A knowledge and interest in community planning demonstrated by enrollment in a planning or related degree program
  • Ability to convey detailed findings and research through written reports
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team
Minimum Requirements: 
  • Able to work a min. of 15-20 hours per week 
  • Interested in planning or related field. 
  • Currently an EMCC student
