CTL Training and Development Consultant Job

Job Summary: 

Working under a learning college philosophy (http://www.estrellamountain.edu/learning-college) and placing learning first anyway, anyplace, anytime, Estrella Mountain Community College is hiring a Training and Development Consultant. Identify, develop, coordinate, implement and evaluate training & organizational development programs & strategies for the development and enhancement of employee knowledge and skills, and to drive and support organizational effectiveness.

Essential Functions: 

80%- Develops and implements training activities for campus personnel and professional growth related to the college's strategic directions on a variety of topics, including personal growth, professional growth, LMS systems, and how to use appropriate technology tools.

10%- Works with CTL staff, human resources, and other employees to determine training needs (may include creating surveys and data collection).

10%- Create assessments and complete analysis and reports on the effectiveness of employee training.

Minimum Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s Degree in instructional design, training and development, education, or directly related field and two years of experience in training and development, and assessment or evaluation.


An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation.


Desired Qualifications: 
  1. A master’s degree or higher

  2. Experience in instructional technology, instructional design, and/or educational media

  3. Evidence of strong customer service skills

  4. Experience working in a team environment

  5. Experience meeting work goals in an environment that requires multiple tasks with short timelines

Positions in this class typically require: fingering, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.

Sedentary Work:  Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects including the human body.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Working Conditions:  Work is routinely performed in an indoor, office environment.
