Job Summary: 

Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) is hiring a Students Services Specialist (part-time) -  Embedded Tutoring Program to work under a Learning College philosophy (http://www.estrellamountain.edu/learning-college) where learning happens anytime, anyway, any place.  The Embedded Tutoring Program provide in-class tutoring support for students in developmental, first college-level or co-requisite courses addressing both developmental and first college-level course support.

Essential Functions: 

25% - Assists with initial and ongoing training of Embedded Tutors.  Ensures training materials are organized, up-to-date, and in user-friendly formats to ensure seamless flow of training activities.  Makes presentations on non-academic soft skills associated with the tutoring role including such topics as study skills, time management, and student to faculty communication in support of successful student habits. 

35% - Maintains frequent and ongoing communication with embedded tutors to ensure they are apprised of relevant information related to policies and maintaining accurate logistical details of work hours and schedules.  Coordinates periodic meeting with embedded tutors and records notes to capture highlights of program implementation and tutor needs and accomplishments.

25% - Assists with data collection on program metrics and gathering of formative data such as ongoing TutorTrac reports. 

15% - Collaborates with the Academic Success Center (ASC) and Title V in developing marketing efforts to promote embedded tutoring across EMCC.

Minimum Qualifications: 

1.  Associate’s Degree

2.  Experience working with diverse populations; oral and written communication skills

3.  Experience with data collection

4.  Experience creating reports using applications such as Excel and Microsoft Office

Desired Qualifications: 

1.  Experience in communicating with faculty/staff and students

2.  Experience giving presentations

3.  Experience with tutoring and/or peer advising

Special Working Conditions: 

Work hours indicated are average work hours rather than specific work hours.
