Job Summary: 

Working under a learning college philosophy (https://www.estrellamountain.edu/learning-college) and placing learning first anyway, anyplace, anytime. This position reports to the dean’s office and provides support to the other departments throughout Student Services.  The focus of this position is to support student affairs by making copies, answering phones, compiling data, data entry, supporting programs, and by providing general office coverage.  Employees will abide by EMCC’s Core Values: Integrity, Diversity, Collaboration, Innovation, and Sustainability as well as maintain a confidential working environment.

Essential Functions: 

50% Program/Event preparation, support, and participation: Special Programs such as graduation, Student Success Fair, Success Week, Intercultural events, Hermanas, ROAR, Early Outreach Programs, Meetings/Retreats, room set up.

25% Office /Support Assistance – file maintenance, follow up phone calls, scheduling, data entry, shredding.

10% General reception by providing quality customer services by telephone, email, and in person.

10% Work as floater within Student Affairs to help support all programs and services within the division.

5% Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications: 

1. Student applicants must be Federal Work Study Students and be enrolled for Spring 2020. Student must have all Financial Aid paperwork on file with the EMCC Financial Aid Office.

2. Experience working in a customer service related position

Special Working Conditions: 

Ability to work in fast-paced, stressful environments.

Some evening and weekend (limited) hours may be required.

Special Notes: 

The individual is expected to represent the college and interact with different departments, students, employees, and guests in a polite, helpful,and professional manner. Ideal candidates are self-motivated, have excellent customer service, and communication skills.
