Job Summary: 

Estrella Mountain Community College is hiring a support staff for our new student orientation, called Required Orientation for Advisement and Registration (ROAR) to work under a learning college philosophy (http://www.estrellamountain.edu/learning-college) where learning happens anyway, anytime, anyplace. The individual is expected to represent the college and interact with different departments, students, employees, and guests in a polite, helpful and professional manner. Ideal candidates are self-motivated, have excellent customer service and communication skills, previous administrative experience and must enjoy interacting with students, staff, and community. 

Essential Functions: 
  • 60% Provides quality customer service via email and in person to students and guests
  • 10% Provides support for various events and workshops related to ROAR
  • 10% May review, compile, verify, distribute and maintain records, data, files, logs, and/or program information
  • 10% Provides reception duties; greets visitors and answers routine questions; takes and relays messages; may serve as central point for email contact
  • 2% Receives, prepares, handles and distributes mail and documents
  • 2% Prepares photocopies and collates documents
  • 2% Assists students by providing education program information or assisting with registration activities, as assigned
  • 2% May update and maintain schedules, calendars and related meeting materials as assigned
  • 2% Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications: 
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, Excel, and Google for the purpose of creating and/or maintaining documents
  • Ability to work in an environment with frequent interruptions
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule
Desired Qualifications: 
  • Experience working in an office setting and providing support to a diverse population
  • Experience organizing and prioritizing work
  • Strong PC skills with knowledge of word processing, using Microsoft Office, Excel, and Google
  • Experience or working knowledge of performing receptionist duties
  • Experience working in an education setting
Special Working Conditions: 

May be required to work evening and/or weekends.  May require prolonged periods of viewing a computer monitor. Incumbents may work in a remote and/or in-person environment depending on the needs of the department
