Job Summary: 

Estrella Mountain Community College is hiring an Accounting tutor to work under the Learning College Philosophy; where learning happens anyway, anytime, anyplace. This position supports students with tutoring services in Accounting courses; and are offered in-person or virtually.

Essential Functions: 

90% - Provides tutoring for various levels of accounting (211, 112, 211, 212, or 230 and 240) courses, virtually or in-person

10% - Record keeping and data input for all appointments with google calendar, Cranium Café, and/or tutortrac.

Minimum Qualifications: 

1. Some college work experience with completion with (grade of "A" in Accounting courses (i.e. ACC - 111, 112, 211, 212, 230, or 240).

2. Computer equipment with hardward and software knowledge

3. Effective oral and written communication skills and understanding the characteristics of good customer service

4. Experienced wth web-plat forms (i.e., google meets, webex, or zoom etc.)

5. Experienced with working in a customer service environment (i.e., answering and responding to appointment request via email or Cranium Café platform), experience with data input and record keeping).

Desired Qualifications: 

1. Associates Degree in any related field

2. Experience handleing confidential records

3. Experience working in a diverse environment and customer service driven

4. Experience multi-tasking in a busy high-level learning environment

5. Completiton with an "A" grade in one or more accounting courses (i.e, ACC - 111, and/or any of the following courses in:112, 211, 212, 230, and 240). 

Special Working Conditions: 
  • This position may require long hours of sitting
  • This position may require prolonged computer usage
  • This position may require to lift 30- 50 pounds of force occasionally, push, pull, or otherwise move objects/machinery
Special Notes: 
  • This position requires knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.  The candidate needs to be patient, supportive, and have a caring nature to assist students.
  • Flexibility to attend training and meetings
  • Must be dependable and available during peak times throughout the semester
