Job Summary: 

Workforce Ambassadors-Federal Work Study (FWS) are expected to represent the college and interact with different departments, students (of all ages), employees, local businesses, and guests in a polite, helpful, and professional manner. Ideal candidates are self-motivated, have excellent customer service, organizational and communication skills, and must enjoy interacting with students, businesses, community members, and staff.

Essential Functions: 
  • 75% Assess needs and assist students, community members, and faculty/staff with general workforce, community education, internship and service learning related topics, and information OR provide information regarding enrollment process

  • 10% Provide support for various events and workshops

  • 15% Perform general office duties including answering phones, scheduling appointments, copying, scanning, faxing, managing office supplies/inventory, and other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications: 
  1. Applicants must have all Financial Aid paperwork complete and on file with the EMCC Financial Aid Office, be eligible for Federal Work Study and enrolled for Fall 2023/Spring 2024

  2. High school diploma or GED

  3. Experience providing direct front-line customer service in person and/or by phone

  4. Experience using Microsoft Office, Google, or similar software for the purpose of creating documents

  5. Experience using the Internet search engines for conducting basic online searches

Desired Qualifications: 
  1. Experience working in an office setting and providing administrative support to a diverse population

  2. Experience organizing and prioritizing work

  3. Strong computer skills with knowledge of word processing, database management, Microsoft Office, Outlook, Publisher, Internet

  4. Experience or working knowledge of performing receptionist duties
