Job Summary: 

Estrella Mountain Community College's Career and Transfer Center is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Career Navigator. As a Career Navigator, you will play a crucial role in assisting students and community members with their professional aspirations through exploration, engagement, and customized career planning. This position is part of the Career and Educational Planning department, which is a unit of the Student Affairs division and includes Academic Advisement, Testing Services, and the Welcome Center.

Career Navigators utilize career exploration tools and resources to help students affirm their future goals and make informed decisions about their career paths; offer programs and services that facilitate career exploration and career development, including assistance with pathway/program and transfer institution exploration; foster connections between students, mentors, campus resources, university partners, and employers to enhance networking opportunities and facilitate career connections; and prepare students for their careers by offering support in job searching, resume writing, interview preparation, and other career readiness skills.

Essential Functions: 

50% - Conduct individual appointments focused on career exploration, employment search, and interview preparation. Assist students with career assessments, resume and interview preparation, and career planning needs utilizing various career services resources. Support and assist students in meeting workplace and/or university transition goals related to their career goals and programs of study.

20% - Deliver presentations and participate in workshops and career fairs both on and off campus. Represent Estrella Mountain Community College at industry and community events, including those involving K12 partners. 

10% - Contribute to the development and maintenance of printed, web, and/or social media materials, postings, and resources.

10% - Provide support to the Career and Education Planning department.

10% - Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: 

Experience providing direct front-line customer service

Experience working with diverse populations

Special Working Conditions: 

Must be able to sit for long periods of time.

Special Notes: 

This position is 100% on campus and not eligible for remote work.

The end date is May 10, 2024 contingent upon funding availability
