West Valley Arts Council (www.westvalleyarts.org) is seeking a Marketing Communications Intern to provide support for the promotion of the organization. Applicants must be continuing EMCC students and have a minimum of 2.5 G.P.A. Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Handling electronic and print media activities, press releases, and advertising.
  • Writing and designing pages for the website to keep it up-to- date, interesting and
  • interactive.
  • Maintaining website concent to West Valley Arts Council specifications and design
  • standards.
  • Managing social media accounts Instagram and Facebook by creating posts relevant to
  • WVAC events and members.
  • Develop creative hashtags for the public to post under during events to further promote
  • WVAC.
  • Submit events online to various organization’s event calendars on a regular basis
  • Work with the Marketing and PR Director to create publicity materials for exhibitions,
  • and fundraising events.
  • Assist in the creation of presentations for potential fundraising event for Sponsors.
  • Work with Gallery Manager on presentation of Arts HQ Gallery.
  • Attending West Valley Arts Council events, programs and meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements: 
  • Current EMCC student with a 2.5 GPA minimum 
  • Able to work 15-20 hours per week
  • IDEALLY: Able to committ to two semesters 
  • Graphic design experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and computer abilities.
  • Self-starter, and ability to work well with others
