Description: 

The marketing intern works under direction of marketing and communications manager and marketing specialist within the marketing department of the agency. The marketing and communications team supplies content to media, organizations, and the public to build awareness and promote the agency’s programs, share its news and stories, create relationships and be a voice on behalf of the agency. Activities may include, but not be limited to creating marketing materials and content that may be used for social media, news and media relations, Google AdWords campaign maintenance and improvement, internal and external communications, distribution of marketing materials, spreadsheet and database management.The company has asked that the intern work for 20 hours per week .  Hours are flexible, depending on the student’s schedule. Applicants must be continuing EMCC students and have a minimum of 2.5 G.P.A or a recommendation from your SWSC instructor. Duties and Responsibilities: 

Works with marketing manager and community marketing team to implement marketing content to increase awareness of Southwest Human Development. This position’s primary responsibilities include:

  • Activities such as social media and marketing content research and creation
  • Research/gather information/create spreadsheet on links to content sources as well as individual content for social media and marketing team’s ongoing use
  • Assists with Google AdWords keyword updates, ad and campaign maintenance
  • Provides follow-up on marketing outreach and coordination
  • Assist with growing social media engagement and number of people participating actively in agency social media campaigns that positively effect and impact the agency’s services and participants
  • Work with marketing manager and specialist on special projects
