"Up by their Bootstarps" is a non-profit organization that is commited to serving members of the millitary, veterans and their families. They are seeking an intern that is sharp and a driven self-starter. The intern will gain hands-on experience by helping out with day-to-day functions and special projects, assisting with various aspects of marketing and promotional content, including but not limited to promotional campaigns, handouts, brand management, social media, graphic design, and market research. Duration of internship is for 12-18 weeks and employer has asked intern work for 10-15 hours a week. Opportunity for pay available depending on success of intern. Applicants must be continuing EMCC students and have a minimum of 2.5 G.P.A or a recommendation from your SWSC instructor. Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Participate in brain storming sessions on funding and other organization needs.
  • Update the social media forums and keep them up to date, including the website.
  • Act as the first contact to correspondence and direct accordingly.
  • Administrative responsibilities
  • May be required to conduct interviews and video tape events.
  • Contribute positively to the organization.
  • Manage some programs, act as program coordinator and occasionally fill in for the Director
Minimum Requirements: 
  • Can-do attitude
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with ability to communicate with diverse populations
  • Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with poise, enthusiasm, discretion and professionalism
  • Proficient in Microsoft office suite
  • Well organized with attention to detail and ability to carry out tasks independently
  • Ability to meet deadlines
