The employer asks that the applicant must be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours in an AAS degree program in HVAC, Mechanical, I&C (Instrumentation & Controls), UPW (Ultra-pure Water)/IWS (Industrial Waste Systems) Engineering, Manufacturing, and Emergency Technologies while maintaining a minimum of a 3.0 GPA over the course of the Internship.  Must be able to work no less than 20 hours per week on a regular basis (finals week may be the exception). Must be “on schedule” to complete degree program within 2 years as the maximum duration of the Facilities Intern Program is 2 years.

Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Obtain and sustain all required safety and technical certifications.  Actively engage on team safety initiatives.
  • Safely troubleshoot errors, performing repairs and preventative maintenance on a wide variety of equipment to maintain 100% manufacturing uptime.
  • Conducts preventative, predictive and corrective maintenance inspections and procedures.
  • Utilizes and develops technical troubleshooting skills to solve daily tactical operational issues.  Work performed within generally defined parameters. Some degree of judgment and troubleshooting skill required in resolving nonstandard problems.
  • Able to work day/night shift and weekends to maintain minimum staffing for 24x7 operations. 
  • May include membership in the campus Emergency Response Team.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment and demonstrate excellent customer service skills.
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Intel will be flexible with your student schedule. 
Minimum Requirements: 
  • Must be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours in any of the following AAS degree programs:  HVAC, Mechanical, I&C (Instrumentation & Controls), UPW (Ultra-pure Water)/IWS (Industrial Waste Systems) Engineering, Manufacturing, and Emergency Technologies.
  • Maintain a 3.0 GPA
  • Ability to work a minimum of 20 hours per week (max is 31 hours).
  • Safely use and understand hand tools, power tools, and test equipment
  • Must be able to maintain detailed and accurate records
  • Must be able to follow procedures
  • Must have the unrestricted right to work in the US without sponsorship
  • Able to work day/night shift and weekends to maintain minimum staffing for 24x7 operations, however work schedules will be flexible to accommodate school schedule.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment and demonstrate excellent customer service skills
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
