The Environmental Quality Division is responsible for ensuring the water you drink is of the highest quality and meets EPA and governmental standards.  The Division responds to all water-quality concerns from customers in the City of Goodyear service area, issues permits to drain pools, and administers the backflow and cross-connection programs.

This is a UNPAID internship but does qualify for EMCC's WIRRCS scholarship.  The company has asked that the intern work for approximately 8-10 hrs. per week and will be flexible with your EMCC schedule. Applicants must be continuing EMCC students and have a minimum of 2.5 G.P.A or a recommendation from your SWSC instructor. Duties and Responsibilities: 
  • Maintain a 2.5 GPA 
  • Be able to work a MIN of 8 hours per week
  • Assist with monitoring and obtaining water and wastewater compliance sampling

  • Assist with inspections, survey review, and data entry for backflow device program
  • Assist with inspections for Fats, Oils, Grease program
